The tiger's
magnificent grace, elegance and beauty is something that has to
be seen to be appreciated. The fact that any movement by the
tiger results in the entire jungle exploding with alarm calls
gives us an indication of the effect the tiger's sheer presence
has on the rest of the jungle inmates.
The other
exciting creature we will encounter while on safari is the Asian
Elephant. Though a trifle smaller in size from its African
counterpart, it more than makes up for the difference in size
with its extra protectiveness towards its young. This protective
nature often leads to one of the mothers in the herd treating us
to a 'mock charge'. Though completely safe, the sight and sound
of this huge beast trumpeting and flapping its ears as it
'charges' a few steps towards us is enough to set anybody's
heart racing!
Corbett Park
offers excitement from various other sources as well. While on
safari, we will have an opportunity to encounter leopards, sloth
bears, four different species of deer, wild boars, porcupines,
jackals, martins, fresh-water and marsh crocodiles, pythons,
monitor lizards and zillions of species of birds.

Most
importantly, all this takes place in a theatre of exceptional
natural beauty.
Whilst on
safari, our daily routine would be as follows: There will be two
safaris a day covering different sections of the National Park.
The route for
each trip is decided at the last minute as it depends on reports
of animal movements and sightings.
The morning
safari would depart at approx 06.00 hours, and the evening
safari would depart at approx 16:00 hours.
All efforts
will be made to try and organize at least one safari on
elephant-back, and the rest would be in open backed safari
jeeps.
Each safari
would be of 2-3 hours' duration and a professional guide will
accompany each vehicle.
Though we have
our own detailed itineraries for our various adventure holidays
which we have carefully researched and fine tuned over the
years, we would be only too happy to customize an itinerary for
you. |
