level Bhimtal is centrally situated among the famous lakes
of Kumaon. A total of 9 lakes in the region offer excellent
rowing paddle boating, trekking , fishing , swimming and
picnic opportunities. This lake town has the distinct
advantage of a very pleasant weather all around the year
because of its ideal altitude. Bhimtal takes its name from
mighty Bhim (one of the Pandavas). In Hinduism. This
picturesque lake perked by an island is believed to be full
of Mahabharata legends. Today this lake interlude has
emerged as a 'different' tourist destination.
